I bought this filter many times for our LG refrigerator, there is no taste to our water or ice cubes. I agree this filter is too expensive, but last approximately six months.

We have public water that’s mildly chlorinated. This filter removed all traces of chlorine taste and that somewhat “fishy” taste from summer algae blooms for over a year. In fact, it was the best tasting water I’d had in 30 years!
These filters are meant to last 6 months or so but for us delivered good water for over a year (could be we don’t drink as much water as average families).
Easy to install. Not easy to find except on line. Expensive but worth it.
