I bought one of these when they first came out. There is a huge design problem – the filter does not lock in place. The problem is that there are always bouyant forces in the filter. Since Cuisinart did not design the filter to lock in place the filter floats out of the socket! When the filter floats out of the socket the unfiltered water mixes with the filtered water making the unit totally useless. What is the point of owning this product if the water isn’t filtered?
I tried calling Cuisinart Customer Serivce. It took them WEEKS to answer me. Cuisinart said that they’d send me a replacement filter after they received my filter. Their return process takes WEEKS! I was do disgusted! I returned the unit and received a full refund from the vendor.
It’s bad enough that Cuisinart designed a horrible unit, but their terrible customer service made the whole experience even worse!
Save your money and your time. This unit sucks!

We enjoy the Cuisinart WCH-1500 system. The water tastes great and it was easy to set up. We no longer have to buy the 5 gallon jugs. The only complaint we have is that the machine is loud when turned on. We only turn on the cold or hot when we are going to use it. The machine does heat or cool the water in a short period of time. We just shut it off when we know we won’t be using it much and just drink the room temperature water.

purchased this for use in my office. 1-2 gal/wk for 6 months. Worked well for 6 months. As said in other reviews, loud when heating/cooling, takes a while to warm up, doesn’t get super hot. Water comes out very very slow, but as long as you are patient its ok.
After 6 months of use, I opened up the unit to clean it out (even after filtering there was residue in the bottom of the reservoir) and found the spring in the hole between the reservoir and the dispenser had rusted. That rust was coming through the dispenser.
Have not heard back from manufacturer but thinking will end up writing it off.

I am so tired of my empty water bottle collection. I have 5 35 gallon bags of empty bottles in my back yard!! This takes care of it, and it does it with style. Love the look, and the cost of the filters is so nice. My old Britta faucet purifier can’t compare. Never fear, buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought this item would be great for my family, the kids would be able to get water whenever they wanted. However, when I got the product I could not even push the buttons for water dispensing without holding the machine because the buttons were so hard to push. Not to mention you have to use two hands to try and dispense hot water because of the safety lock feature and having to hold that and try and push the hard buttons. Not user friendly at all, even for adults.
